Just thought I'd update you on the cause of my gas leak, it turns out those=
of you that responded you where spot on!!! It was indeed the fuel line tha=
t corroded through at one of the rubber line mounts. Seems that salt gets u=
nder the rubber and corrodes the lines. I guess this is one for the "Known =
Issues List".
I was told these lines are sold as a set of 3 with the rubber mounts alread=
y in place. Is this a dealer only part?, or can this be sourced more reason=
ably?
I was going to fix the line (patch), but decided to replace them. If one li=
ne sprung a leak, then it's possible it will happen again at the other moun=
t locations. The lines are not that convoluted in shape and it should be po=
ssible to make stainless steel ones, but I'm not sure it's worth going thro=
ugh all that trouble... I mean these ones lasted 10 years already... Maybe =
just paint the new ones before they go on?
Thoughts?
Cheers, /James.
