Cool thanks. I think I found a used one here in Boulder. Thanks for
the RS2 information, good to know. Dealer wanted $680, I almost cried.

I am having an issue with my door locks they are not working properly.
When
I turn the key once to the right the alarm activates but the doors
unlock.
When I turn the key to the left once the alarm deactivates but the doors
lock. If I turn it to the left twice the only the drives side door
opens.
Any thoughts?

Bill (specifically),
I generally try to keep my mouth shut unless the situation really
warrants it. In the past you've made comments on the list that could
have been regarded as rude, and I never can tell when you're kidding or
not. But this last one has finally given me cause to ask why we put up
with you.
If you've got a gripe against John, something you think that other
q-listers should know for their own good or protection, by all means,
post a COHERENT message to the list explaining what happened and why you
feel you were wronged and if you're feeling really generous, maybe even
give John a chance to make it right.
But you instead resorted to unsubstantiated personal attacks (are we
to assume John worked for Enron?) in a public forum and the vague
suggestion of some wrong doing rather than anything specific. It reads
like something an angry middle-school student (with bad grammar no less)
wrote. And it pretty much defines the word "ironic" that you refer to
John's response as "incoherent". I don't know either you or John, so
I'm not about to take sides, but John at least wins points for acting
like an adult on the list. If you want to spout crap, keep it off the
goddamn list! I've got better things to do with my time, and I'm sure
everyone else on the list does too. And if you feel like spouting
toward me or John in the future, keep it to our private addresses, don't
waste everyone else's time and bandwidth.
To everyone else who has to read this: Am I being unreasonable to ask
that people try to act with a little courtesy and decency on this list?

Dear Listers,
Bill Bennett or Portland/Beaverton, Oregon sent me a string of
incoherent
e-mails babbling on about how some S-car listers are pissed off at me
for
one reason or another.
In all honesty, I have NOT knowingly or intentionally "screwed a

have

principal of "Karma," and it bothers me that my slate may unknowingly

Lee,
I understood the 15 inch wheel/tire combo to be narrower than the 16
(is that incorrect? with the narrower prefered becaue it cuts through
the snow better and doesn't "float"... Would like to know why you
prefer a 16 inch fo the snow tires.
Thanks

C-Tech upgrade - VERY worthwhile in my opinion ( I did it) BUT I would
recommend the 1144 compound for MOST people. I believe what he will
supply is the 1155 compound which is MUCH harsher and comes with a MUCH
bigger warning label in regard to not driving on public roads with
them. Last time I checked, Tom was not aware that there was another
compound besides the 1155 but there should be no reason why he can't get
it. There are actually two others, 1144 and 1166, I picked up a set of
the 1144's at a Porsche shop and have been VERY happy with them on the
street and one track weekend at Laguna Seca. I'd venture that the
1155's will wear down the rotors pretty quickly, and at $350/set of
rotors in the Stage 3 kit, that's a big penalty if you're not really
going to use them as intended.

Weekend report,
With the temps soaring to 69 degrees here in Kalamazoo, MI I decided it
was time to take the snows off the S4's and install the 16 inch rubber
for the summer time fun!
Next....time to spring clean the interior!
That is all for now......back to the regularly scheduled chaos!

So you don't have any problems with oversized wheels in the summer? My
car
is stock suspension and stock brakes. Completely stock actually.
You don't have any speedometer inaccuracies with the different sizes?
Their
pretty close to the original?
Do you have any recommendations for summer/winter tires? I'm shopping
now.
Maybe Firestone SZ50EP or Sumitomo HTR Z for summer. Maybe Dunlop
Winter
Sport M2s for winter?

New lower control arms and 4 $7 subframe bushings fixed my problem. (got
them from ECS tuning at about 1/3 dealer cost.) New struts only
exacerbated the problem. (That means they made it worse, Pauly)

Paul,
I recall that last year, there was some discussion on this list about
the
"shakes" during high-speed cornering. May have even been on the Yahoo
list,
but not positive. May have been Darin who was discussing this
phenomenon,
but if I remember correctly, it wasn't due to spacers or wheels, but
front
struts. Regardless, check the archives, because I think it was a
problem
that was finally solved.
I haven't had to deal with high-speed cornering with 205/55/16 winter
tires
and the stock Rancho suspension this winter....

Well, after all the talk of wax last week I was able to get my car waxed

And,
just in time for the Blizzard of '03 to occur. Denver is supposed to
receive
upwards of 3 feet of snow in the next few days. I leave for a 4 day trip

I look out my office window, those large quarter sized flakes are even

falling.

>"Begorra", said Paddy. "I'll have to ring you back."

>Sure enough the next day, Paddy called again. "Mr. Hussein, the war is

>
>"And what equipment would that be, Paddy?" Saddam asked.

>"Well, we have two combines, a bulldozer, and Murphy's farm-tractor"

>Saddam sighed. "I must tell you, Paddy, that I have 16,000 tanks and

>Sure enough, Paddy rang again the next day. "Mr. Hussein, the war is

>
>Saddam went silent for a moment and then cleared his throat. "I must

>"Jesus, Mary and Joseph" said Paddy. "I'll have to ring you back."

>Sure enough, Paddy called again the next day. "Top o' the mornin', Mr.

>
>"I'm sorry to hear that" said Saddam. "Why the sudden change of heart?"

>"Well" said Paddy, "we've all had a long chat over a bunch of pints and
>decided that there's no fookin way we can feed two million prisoners."
