Yours is the second post to point a finger at John...I may have missed
something, but I don't see it that way...

1.  3/8:  John posts a request for someone to run a VIN thru CarFax.  Cheap?
Maybe.  Right or wrong (subjective judgment) it happens on other cars lists
I've seen and I've only once seen a response complaining about the practice.
I'm guessing CarFax anticipated such actions in their product/pricing model.

2.  3/9:  Bill responds to the list with, IMO, an inappropriate
personal/character attack on John.
3.  3/13:  John asks the list that anyone with a gripe to contact him
privately.
4.  3/16:  Bill responds again to the list with another, IMO, inappropriate
character attack.

Was there an exchange of private email apart from this?  Undoubtedly yes,
but we're not privy to it here.  If Bill was truly wronged by John, gave
John an opportunity to fix things and John did not, then he should lay out
his FACTS here, not innuendo and attack.  That would be of use to people
here in deciding if they want to deal with someone...and that goes both ways
for the people involved in this exchange.
