[s-cars] MAF needed?, MAF question

so do the MAFs always die by blowing their electronics? the MAF in
my car died a couple of years ago. the hot wire seems to be fine. i
think it's the electronics that are blown. if somebody else has
a dead MAF due to a contaminated hot wire (like an inveterate K&N oiler),
it might be possible to cannibalize the electronics from it and transplant
it into my dead MAF. i'll happily donate it to anybody who wants to
try.
