Dave, I have been contemplating (in fact, I have purchased the 87C
t-stat and coolant) doing a replacement on mine because it only hovers
around 80-85deg C on the CC, stays at the "normal" mark on the gauge.
I was suspecting that my t-stat is an 80-deg model that the PO owner
may have put in by mistake. Maybe 80-87 is normal for this car? My
wife's A4 stays rock steady at 90.
Let me know what you find out.
