[s-cars] Temp Gauge Not Working

Hum, well that's one temp gauge. What about air temp?
I would think intake air temp, taken AFTER the IC,
has got to be, and if it is not, ought to be one of
the ECU's primary input parameter, yes?

For all of us that have monkeyed about with Davtron's,
why weren't we clever enough to figure out how to tap the
IAT signal (your Bentley Manual, Section J 24-4, aka
Illustration 24-763, Item #26 Intake Air Temp (IAT)
sensor, -G42-)?

Without monkeying about with a Davtron, anyone know if the VAG tools &/or
any HAVC dash Easter egg tricks can give you access to this sensor? Any
ideas how fast the OEM temp sensor responds to changes in temps.

~Actually, the ECU receives it's temp signal from here:

~The MFTS is for the gauge only.
~Owners of the S can check what temp the ECU coolant temp sensor sees by
~putting the climate control unit into diag mode and switching to a certain
~channel.
~(I don't have an S, so I sorta ignored the recent thread on this
~proceedure... Check the archives for details)
