my '92 S4 and I would guess has the same for your car.

Morning All,

On Saturday, while running errands, I had just started the car back up after
driving to the mall. The car was idling while I put on my seat belt.
Suddenly, the engine just went dead.  It started fine, but then died again.
This repeated about 3 times.  I finally kept my foot on the gas, feathering
it when I had to come to a stop with the clutch in.  Made it home OK.
Sunday, did a few minor errands, no reoccurrence.

Today while driving to work at freeway speeds, it stumbled three separate
times.  The check engine light flickered each time.

Now, here are the car facts and a couple of questions.  The patient is a
95.5 S6 Avant with 44K on the clock.  About 2K ago, I went to an MTM Stage 1
w a K&N filter, installed by Anderson Motor Sports.  About a week after
that, I blew the turbo hose connection between the rubber hose coming down
from the turbo and the plastic pipe that runs behind the front bumper.  I
had to limp about 60 miles home.  Was able to reconnect hoses the next day.
No apparent consequences unless this latest issue is related.  Aside from
the MTM upgrade, the car is bone stock.

Now the questions.  I have heard many talk about "pulling codes".  How does
one do that without a VAG tool?  Any thoughts on the stumble?  I have been
planning on installing new plugs and O2 sensor but have not done so yet.

All thoughts welcome.
