Like our accellerator pedal's, the urS rear brakes quite simply need a total
lobotomy IME.
CO boys have a solution that they will soon share with us ??? Come on. And
please make it less than a grand. Okay well 1500 then. Pleeze?
Though I repeat myself, I believe the problem starts when the ebrake cable
becomes stretched a bit, caliper pin does not maintain full range of motion,
rusts and the trouble begins.
To treat symptomatically, follow urS4.com instructions to clean up the
caliper pin but also remove the driveshaft cover (no big deal) and look at
where the ebrake set screw attaches to the cable. Theres a nut that needs to
be tightened snug on that set screw to take up the slack when you pull the
ebrake handle.
I tightened this a couple weeks ago and there is no more slack when I pull
the handle. It's a nice feeling to feel the ebrake grab immediately.
IME its also the cause of the common ebrake set and the car still rolls
syndrome.
Ultimate solution is a whole re-engineered set up though IMHO.
and
for some Weakend LAF enjoyment-
Here's a link to the Champion Racing RS6 site with alot of pix from Sebring.
