[s-cars] Oily "Michelin Man" Question

S-gruppees: Long time no post. 'Been busy organizing and facilitating
a two day National (Canadian) Biosolids Conference (now there's a line
for you "snipers" out there). Anyway, as a result, I was too busy to
get my oil changed. Finally got it changed today (Fumoto valves
forever!). While it was on the hoist and the undertray was off, I was
appalled to see oil around the exit end clamp of the "Michelin Man"
hose. Apparently the gear clamp was stripped and was not as tight as it
should be (I probably lost some boost as a result). That has been
solved with a new clamp. Now the questions:

I know the turbo oil seals leak a bit naturally, but how much is
natural?? This looked like a lot of oil. I had about 5000 km on since
the last oil change and was only down 0.5 L at the time of the change -
nothing added. However, I think I lost the most in the last week after
travelling 800 km on a round trip on our BC equivalent to an interstate
(110 kph posted but 120 kph min with several 150 kph bursts on uphill
sections (usually not a speed trap area). I am thinking the car was
putting out the most boost then and may be the cause of the oil leak
and/or the clamp problem or both. I know about SAMCO. What I don't
know is am I looking at a bad turbo (no boost gauge installed)?? Any
ideas and (polite) comments are welcomed.

Dave ("Dr. Sludge") Forgie (and you think you got problems!!)
