Cody:

Creaking on compression.

Long long time ago, my 92 S4 had this problem. Anyway to make a long
story short, I found that the problem was due to friction between the
front sway bar (the middle part of it) against the round metal conduit
(running across from left to right) which is sitting just ahead of the
bar if I am not mistaken).

With the car on the lift (tires unloaded), you would not see the contact
since the front sway bar is in different position.

You might want to check if this is indeed the case. If it is the case
you might want to put spacers/washers on the round metal conduit
mounting points to move it farther from the sway front sway bar.
