The sky must be falling when Pizzo is worried about blowing up his motor;)
Funny, but I was thinking of tracking down uncle boost and begging for
another pound or two:) So now you can just send me your extra.
But really, like Bruce, I attempt to flogg this thing every chance I get,
though only one memorable track date. I believe my gauge peaks at 27psi and
there is no discernable knocking or codes. Like a few other things I have
not installed my A/F meter yet.
Do you have the rs2 x cam? I also run the stock fpr. I have always been a
proponent of just rs2, i.e. nothing more and nothing less and it IS smooth as
silk right up to 27 psi near as I can see my ashtray autometer.
That's really all I can tell ya. You dont 'have' to go to WOT all the time
ya know. I can rarely do it for more than 5 seconds before I'm caught up
with the next pack of cars.
If you look at our software map, it doesnt hold peak boost for very long and
I don't recall anything on this list saying 27 psi is too crazy. Neu S4 guys
and even Porsche guys cant comprehend our boost levels. > 30 psi could be
bad I think think according to the ECS site hawking carrillo's.
Knock on wood but everything is running so well that I'm just gonna continue
flogging till it blows up, sell off the parts and go for the Volvo R , I-5
turbo, twin intercoolers, 2.5 liter, 300 hp, six speed manual, brembo brakes,
4 wheel drive, weird design with weird colors. ha!!
Just kidding but maybe???

Guys,
As some of you may already know, I recently took the
plunge into RS2 territory and I love it, but the
logical side of my brain keeps telling me something
isn't right here.

I have RS2 turbo, MAF, injectors, exhaust manifold,
etc. and see spikes of up to 28 psi. Yeah, 28.
Everyone that I talk to about this says it's probably
a bad idea to be spiking that high on stock
compression (9.3:1?) and no racegas. I will soon be
doing water injection, but there are gurus around here
that might be able to sooth my convictions.

What cfm does the 7200 RS2 Turbo flow?
How do I find out if the timing is getting pulled back
due to AIT's being too high?
Am I going to be looking at a head/motor rebuild next
year (Yay, time for pauter/carillo and JE to go in
there)?

I know, guys like Bruce M and Bill and Bob and Frank
and others have has this setup for a while, but is
this thing going to ride the knock sensors over time
and kill this motor in the long run?

Joe, looking for a better (read: more efficient) way
to make power on this setup before blowing up block
and starting over, Pizzo
