Bob,
That's my recollection as well, the front-torsen suggestion got the thumbs down due to the fact that it would increase understeer.
I don't recall SJ ever mentioning rear-torsen as a bad idea.
I think I would, since I have been one of the rear-torsen supporters, and while SJ don't always agree on everything at the beginning , this was one case where we definatley did :)
Before I re-lurk, I should also mention my opinion and experience with H/T :)
In both my 91 200q20v and my 93 S4, I did H/T by putting the side of my right foot on the brake, and rolling over and blipping the gas with the other side. However, I have a hard time doing this without having the side effect of a brief reduction in braking-force.
In my S2000, and now my 968CS, I also use this method most of the time. However, when I am braking fairly heavily, and don't want to risk ANY chance of reducing brake effort, I pivot my leg around and blip the gas with the HEEL of my foot.
After perfecting this in the S2000, I remember trying in the S4, and it wasn't possible due the difference in seating position, pedal layout, and steering wheel position.
Cheers,

Wasn't that in reference to using a Torsen/Quaife front differential?
Bob
