Richard,
Unless turbos are different I have built a lot of engines and I have never
re-torqued the head bolts. Exhaust manifold, intake manifold....sometimes,
but never have I re-torqued the head bolts.

Subject: [s-cars] retorquing headbolts?
Hello:
My wife's S6 is apparently finished. The timing belt was finally
replaced, and the head rebuilt by the dealer after months of
negotiation. Surprisingly, they did a fine job on detailing the outside
and inside of the car. Tomorrow I will test drive it, and take
possession if I am satisfied with its repair.
However, at what point should the head bolts be retorqued? It would be
good to know this before I sign the final papers so I can get them to
add that to the pickup order. The car will come with a 12month
12000mile full drive train transferrable warranty, which should cover
any problems.
Thanks for the help.
My wife is still talking about selling the car immediately. We'll see
what she says after she drives it.
Thanks for the help.
