C-

3078 is basically a socket with a piece cut out so that you can get an allen
to prevent the strut shaft from spinning as you loosen the nut (IIRC, it
been a while...). I made do without on my previous vw's: use vice grips on
a socket while holding the allen, OR i think i used a wrench on the strut
nut while holding the allen... something like that.

I bought something that resembles 2069 from the Cornwell tools guy. You may
be able to hook up with a rep in your area and stop by to see him while he's
at a shop in your area. Mine was 17.95, IIRC. You could also stop by a
garage and ask if there's a rep that comes around...

Note that I haven't done the front install yet on a //S-car, just on
previous vee-dubs that utilized similar tools. I'm going to tackle the
ENTIRE front end this weekend (bushings, mounts, struts, the whole nine...)
and will have a better idea after...

Note that you probably will need a BFPB or BFPOP (piece of pipe) (tm) to
lever the sway bar back in

Hello all,
I previously posted this around the time last week
when the server went Kafluey (technical term).

my question the special tools 2069 and 3078 are they
worth getting. Anybody out there got them and wouldn't
