Right.  Although I think it was something like Peugot had models that were
three digits with a zero in the middle.  Didn't they have a 504 and later
a 306?

Porsche showed the 901 in '63 or '64, and had a very limited production
car called a 904 that was a '64 model.  After the 901 became 911, they
still used x0x for race cars like the 906, 907, 908, and 909.
