I have a 95 and it goes like this:
-Starting out you should see "SAFE" on the display.
-Press and hold FM1 and AM buttons until you see "1000"
-Now the preset buttons 1-4 are used to manipulate the code.  1 for the first
number, 2 for the second and so on.
-Once you get your code in there, press and hold FM1 and AM again until SAFE
goes away.
-Turn up some tunes and all those annoying noises from the suspension and
lifters and belt tensioners go away... COOL!!
