[s-cars] Big 'ole RSB install

Unless Prestige finally replaced their POS alignment rack, I wouldn't trust
anything they did. I used to take the urq down the street to, what was
it?...Performance Wheel, I think. That was where even Prestige was sending
the Porsches after too many complaints. I had Prestige mount a set of
P700Z's on the urq and do an alignment two weeks later prior to a trip up to
Crested Butte. One trip from Golden and the rears were shot, with the
fronts only slightly less so. The sorry SOB's wouldn't accept
responsibility, so I never went back. Switched to Stammler and was more
than pleased in comparison. Bought Ann's new 90 there way back when. When
the owner is there and you can talk to him regularly, it says a lot how the
dealership is going to be run. Adolf used to wander around with my toddler
telling him about the Porsche's and when Ann apologized and tried to take
Nick away, he raised his buffing cloth and told her he was fine and that was
what the cloth was for.
And then there's Crescent City. For all you purchasers of discount parts,
we shall see where it goes. It has been sold to Tom Benson, the New Orleans
Saints owner, who also has the Mercedes and BMW franchises in town. Whether
the discounts will continue is anybodys guess. Apparently Porshce and Audi
will move to Metairie on Veterans Blvd., near the other two prime
dealerships. VW will probably stay at the present location; what happens to
Saab is anyone's guess.
As one of my neighbors in the game (Jaguar used car mgr.) said, "The good
news is that Blessey sold; the bad is that Benson is the buyer." I wonder
how long he'll hold the Infiniti and Nissan dealerships or whether they're
selling, too? Transfer to take place in July, from what I hear.
Buy those Porsche brake parts now.
Steve
