Hi All,
Here is how far I got in my quest for Rush & Roe (well not really).
To get access to the AM amplifier I removed the headrests via Robert Myers'
posting dated 30Apr03. I then pushed (to the rear of the car) the rear pillar
cover. It basically popped somewhat free. I pulled it over to about 45
degrees and then had access to the amp. Pulled the power connection and all AM
went away. Repowered up and pulled the coax - totally silent on both AM & FM
(probably the front antenna for FM is not connected). I also verified continuity
on the window to antenna connection. Finally, I took a 10 to 15 foot piece
of speaker wire, stripped both ends and twisted together the wires. I took one
end and hung it out the rear door and jammed the other onto the antenna
connector. Got beautiful AM reception. Hiss went away, sound was clear. Next
step was to see where I could mount this wire. Unfortunately, whenever I got the
wire inside the car the reception reverted to its old lousy quality. Any
Ideas short of drilling a hole in a fender (which I won't do)?
