[s-cars] re: Climate Control Weirdness

Douglas,

It's you ignition switch going bad as Arron has posted.  When the car
starts and you let go of the key, it is not returning to the "ON"
position - it is staying somewhere between "ON" and "START".  Short term
fix is to nudge the key to the "ON" position.  This will get your
electrical controls working again.  Remember, when the key is in
"START", all electrical systems shut down to divert power to start the
car.   Getting the parts from the scrap yard is a good way to go - cheap
and very effective.

Keep an eye on this as you don't want it to stick in "START" or you will
be replacing your starter and maybe the flywheel.  I don't know how much
that would be but I'm sure it will be more than the tumbles from a used
car.

Oh, Audi guru's,

I am seeing random occurrences of a perplexing problem.  Three times
now, I
have turned on my 95.5 S6 Avant, and the climate control display is
blank,
as is the outside air temp display.  On one occurrence, the turn signals
did
not work either (this may have been the case in the other two
occurrences -
didn't test).

The first time it happened, I thought "fuse" and pulled over.  Located
the
30-amp fuse for the climate system, pulled it, it looked good, replaced
it,
started the car, and everything was fine again.  The second time, did
the
same (car still running this time), no joy.  Turned car off and on, and
bingo, AC worked.  Third time I saw it, I just turned the car off, and
then
back on again.  Haven't a clue as to what's going on.

Anybody else seen this?  Any ideas of what it might be?  Fix?
