Hello all:
Here is a quick question of an Audi nature, not S6. My 98 A6 Automatic
tranny is leaking out the rear seal onto the cat. With no dipstick, is
there some way to tell how much vital fluids remain? Also, where do I
add the transfusion, after doing the seal.
As a Ha Ha, I did take it to Hoffman's nearly a year ago for this
problem, symptoms being burning oil smoke smell. There answer was to
replace the head gaskets for $250, which did nothing to stop the
problem. They are currently thinking about living up to the warranty
for the one year on the job, or of weaseling based on this being a
whole new problem, despite my private mechanic telling me the cat looks
nearly encased in ceramic goo from a long (year) period of burning up
tran fluid. Will I never learn?
If you guys got the info, I will certainly appreciate it.
Yours,
Rich Molk
