in-check. One day in '88 while watching a race and whining about how daddy
got that guy a ride or some other comment about talent, his girlfriend at
the time said, "If you want to race so bad then why don't you go and get a
sponsor and start racing again?". This sounded too simple, but he decided to
put a package together. Lo and behold, Rockford Fosgate Car Audio, the
second company he approached said yes!

The Race team was Crossover MotorSports, and until that moment it existed
only on paper. After falling out of the chair he realized that now he needed
a Racecar and a real team. With money in hand he found a two car team with
only one driver and within a few months was racing again. This time with the
SCCA Pro Formula Mazda series, supporting more visible events in the west
(Indy, Trans-am).

He would tow the Racecar on a little flatbed trailer with his '86 Audi 5000
to Sponsor shows and non race events, the sight of these two vehicles amused
the local highway traffic for many miles. He raced this series through 1992
when the Sponsor pulled out. That's when I met him, and when I told him that
I liked Formula 1 and that I would get up at 5:00 am to watch it I saw
something in his eyes. We have been married four years now and have two
little boys, Geoffrey and Christian

The love affair with Audi's began in April '93 when a close friend called
him and told him that the '93 Pearl White S/4 that he had for 3 months was
for sale. It seems that our friends wife didn't like the Recaro seats. After
some research on the S4 Scott realized the potential of this car and he
jumped on the chance.

112,000 miles later and this S4 has been through quite a metamorphosis. He
has modified almost everything except the seats! Current Power Level is
520hp. Turbo; K26/K27 hybrid special unit from Heinz Lehmann. Exhaust
manifold; Lehmann high flow. ECM; race chips, 400hp, Lehmann by Jo Hoppen.
Street Chips 340hp, MTM by Ned Ritchie. Nitrous Oxide Injection; 120hp
fogger kit. Clutch; RPS Turbo clutch. Exhaust; Remus. Suspension;
Abt/Bilstien. Brakes; Wilwood Superlight Calipers with Coleman Rotors. Fuel;
JAZ fuel cell 3gal, for alternate 110 octane fuel system.

Scott's first love is roadracing but he loves to go to the Dragstrip and
blow the minds of the "Muscle Car" owners with a two car hole-shot using all
four wheels for better traction than their two Slicks. All this using a four
door with two baby seats in the back. His best run was a 12.67 @ 110mph back
in August of 95, this was when it only made 400hp. He hasn't had the chance
to go due to family and business commitments (Bananas Hi-Fi). If he ever
gets to the track again he's hoping to break into to high 11's, this would
equate to a 0-60 of aprox 3 seconds flat.

Readers of Turbo and Hi-Tech Performance Magazine can get more info in the
Jan '96 issue where his S4 was a featured Vehicle.

Fanatical is a word that I would use to describe his driving habits. Scott
regularly uses Yokohama A008-RS tires for street use during the summer. In
the spring of '95 while driving over to Carson city from our home in Fresno,
he hit a very large snow storm going over an infrequently travelled pass.
This would not have concerned him except that the previous day he put on the
summer tires (3 groove slicks). The traction that the Quattro system
provides is incredible-- he never put a tire off and the snow did not affect
the rest of his trip.

This Audi has never complained about the "friendly treatment" that Scott
gives it. In fact this car is built so well that it runs and drives like
it's brand new. It has even effected his business competitors so much that
now two other stereo shop owners are in love with Audi's, one just purchased
an A8.

As you can see Scott would race a lawnmower if there was a series for them.
But for now he content playing with his Sleeper Audi and Saying "Audi Uber
Alles".
