NOT to start an entire debate or anything (pleeeezzze no), but as a mere
point of reference... As I've mentioned previously, my bud with his '02
///M3 and I get together most (late) Fri's as well as meet up during a
commute home here and there. Without self incriminating, or admitting
anything, or mirroring an AudiWorldofdorkytools post, we've come to some
conclusions this past week. Well, street conclusions.

Let's just say my measly MTM 1+ car is DEAD NUTS EVEN with him, repeatedly,
under various scenarios. I got nothing on him, nor he me. Almost
frustrating... if... I... could... only... go... faster...

Its to the point where even his cockyness gruntedly and painfully admits it
(yes he know's how to drive, would I associate with those who don't ;') ).

OK, one huge difference is off the line, where I can't do a 4k+ launch w/o
smellybadclutchbake, so turbo lag kills that game, badly (once thru lag,
catch right up no prob). Boy do those things hookupandgoinahurry. 5mph
rolling start though, dead nuts even. 4th gear side to side, say 70, dead
nuts even. Me in front of him 1st-4th, dead nuts even. All other scenarios
(non-track), dead nuts even.

On a track, where it's nimbleness would shine through, it's assuredly a
different story. And, his friend has a matching one... he saw, gasp, 177
last week, still pulling hard (on a track, er, of course). Of course it's
got me there (and no, let's not start an AW top-speed-a-thon).

My point is, the M's not always all that and then some. That neuneu likely
stands a good chance, but by then the neu M will kill it and so on and so
on. Heh heh, and don't forget, it's not just pre-'02 M motors going
kaboomskys, but rear ends to boot (not the British kind of "boot" 8-) ).
His is all but fried, toasty, whiney, and will be swapped out this fall.
Do'ah! Allegedly, they're past those curves as of mid '02 build... we'll
see...

Anywho, how much they trying to ditch these neuneus for? Hopefully they'll
depreciate as hard as the current neu, and maybe I can consider one next
time round? Intriguing...

My butofcourseuseless 0.0002 worth.
