I don't _think_ the 996 calipers will fit the RS2 brackets. I _know_
the 993 calipers and RS2 brackets will fit under the 16" 6 spoke
Avus rims.

The BIRA brackets for the 996 calipers appear, from pictures I've
seen, to be quite different than the RS2 brackets.

Use the 993TT calipers with the RS2 brackets. The brake parts are
very reasonably priced - cheaper than the 996 parts. It's arguable
which (996 or 993) is the better brake caliper.
