[s-cars] running rich, failed smog

Check / replace the thermostat.
While a bad stat does tend to offer poorer fuel economy, it also does force
the ecu to run rich.
Before testing the car always go for a good highway drive, this will help
get the temps up and also get any fuel out of the oil sump.
There are other tricks that can be down with fuel additives that burn
cleaner etc. but the s-car should not need it at all.
