[s-cars] CV joint boot done - Ball Joint Boot

Hi Teddy:

I had buggered up one of my ball joint boots a while back.  I was informed
(by Bob Pastore I think) that the boot is not available separately for the S
cars, but that the boot from a 5000 will work.  I had a couple of these
lying around so went for it.  The stud on the S is stouter than on the 5K so
slipping the boot over the stud is a little tight but all went well.  The
retaining "springs" for the boot are a bit of a bugger to get back on.  Upon
Bob's direction, I went to Sears and got a set of their picks.  I think the
set of 4 cost around $8.  Without them, reinstalling the springs would be a
futile task at best.

Drop me a line if you want me to dig up the part number for the 5K boot.
