The radio is not supposed to power down with the rest of the car.
Perhaps it was an odd side-effect of the broken switch? Or some custom
wiring that got bumped?

Subject: [s-cars] Ignition Switch and Radio Power
The ignition switch on my 95 S6 Avant was failing, so I asked my
mechanic to
replace it. The replacement works fine, but now the radio power is no
longer controlled by the ignition key. (Previously, the radio always
would
power down when the key was removed).
The mechanic swears he didn't change anything but the ignition switch.
I've
also been told there is only ONE switch for all the S cars, so it seems
the
wrong part is not too likely.
Any suggestions? I'm a little concerned my wife's just going to forget
to
turn it off and drain the battery.
Thanks,
Robert Welch
