Several of you have already responded to advise me that Audi doesn't tie the
radio power to the ignition. I understand that most Audi's function this
way (that's the way my 93 S4 works.) However, I've owned two 95.5 S6's and
they always killed radio power as soon as you physically removed the key.
Therefore, I'm wondering if there is some "secret" to making this function
correctly on the S6.
Thanks,

Subject: [s-cars] Ignition Switch and Radio Power
The ignition switch on my 95 S6 Avant was failing, so I asked my mechanic to
replace it. The replacement works fine, but now the radio power is no
longer controlled by the ignition key. (Previously, the radio always would
power down when the key was removed).
The mechanic swears he didn't change anything but the ignition switch. I've
also been told there is only ONE switch for all the S cars, so it seems the
wrong part is not too likely.
Any suggestions? I'm a little concerned my wife's just going to forget to
turn it off and drain the battery.
Thanks,
