For the stock shock nut, I took a piece of small exhaust pipe, maybe
1" or 1 1/8" and welded up a larger collar on one end. Then ground
the collar down to have 6 flats that fit inside the stock shock nut.
The pipe material just neeeds to be large enough to go over the shock
rod.

For the Bilstein shock nut, it wasn't much harder.

I just took a foot long piece of exhaust pipe, of the right diameter.
Then took some 1/4" key stock and cut 4 (I think) 3/8" long pieces.
Then I slotted the end of the exhaust pipe in the right places and
brazed in the pieces of 1/4" key stock. I think I fastened a socket
into the other end, by brazing an old 1/2" drive socket onto a flat
of metal that I then brazed onto the end of the exhaust pipe.

It works like a charm and it was almost no cost.
