[s-cars] Please Help! Cable On Top of transmission, how to remove?

Is this a cable used to tighten the seat belts in a crash?  There area
pair of them on each of my 90qs.  They disconnected at the sides of the
engine bay.  But I haven't examined my S6 for an equivalent cable.  Try
following it to the sides to see where it goes.
