If tires are proving to be the weak link, then you've got plenty of brake hardware to do the job currently.
Although I doubt you're talking about ABS-assisted stops from 130 either... ;-)

it's not the rim diameter that counts - it's the width of the tire and
in your case, most likely the kind of tires on the car.
i'm willing to bet your car will stop better with dunlop SP8000s on it.
