[s-cars] Cam Position Sensor....

Mark!
On the first AAN engines, at least in Europe the CPS was at the back of the
cyl head, called hall sensor. It is actually a 1 / 2 distributor without the
distr cap, just a dust -cover. The part is obsolete now and you have to
install the new type (including extending the tree wires) under the cam gear
if the old type fails ,or use an old distributor from previous 200/5000
models.. The principle is the same on both types giving a reference signal
to #1 TDC ignition to the ECU and the fault-codes is also identical.

Audi changed this style in mid-february 1992 from body-number 4A-N-100 001
with the new part number beeing 034 905 161, and old type hallsensor # 034
905 215B.

Best regards Joern,MTM RS
