[s-cars] up a creek without a paddle: timing belt on S6

I would be very afraid to use an impact gun on the crank bolt; I have seen
this technique break the key in the crank pully. It is possible to bend
valves before you even get the belt off.
I also replace the timing belt sprocket on the crank each time I change the
belt. I've seen a few of these with cracks at the key (probably due to an
under torqued bolt) and I don't want to take any chances in this area.

Rokas,
This suggestion may be to late, but when I recently had my AAN timing belt
changed, the mechanic doing the work did not have the locking tool, and
therefore decided to be creative and remove the bumper, top cross member,
A/C condenser and rad. Afterwich, he was able to easily loosen the bolt with
an impact wrench, since he had full access to the front of the engine (easy
water pump change too). Though this may sound like a lot of work, he assured
me that it made the job so much easier, that there was no additional charge
to me for the reassemblty.
Hope this is of some assistance.
