So I fianlly bolted on another set of wheels and tires that were the same
size on to my '93 S4 and it was a night and day difference. My car has
Bridgestone SO3's 235/45/17 w/37psi front 34psi rear. I bolted on a set of
Goodyear Eagle HP Plus in the same size with the same tire pressures and the
car was a dream to drive. I'd roll the Eagles but they belong to my wife and
they are noisy but they go straight, no grabbing, no complaints. I think
it's the wide channels on the SO3's that are causing the grabbing/wandering.
I was looking at the Sumi HTRZ II, Pirelli PZero Rosso Assymentico, Kumho
Ecsta MX. I read all the reviews and they are pluses and minuses for all. I
like the smaller channels in between the tread blocks on the Pirelli.
I want all your opinions, on any tire in this category. I am so HAPPY that I
found my wandering problem, now I just need a tire that is less noisy than
the Eagle. Feel free to email directly. I know this has been discussed in
the past and I have read through those posts, but I want fresh opinions with
more miles under their belts. I am excited about driving my car again.
Thanks.
