I am running the 3-03's as well.

I just today swapped my rims and tires off my 92 S4 and put on a set off my dads 01 S4.  So same exact setup.  I have the 01 wheels on my car too.  So the funny thing is, I also felt night and day difference.  I also felt that it was the wide channels that is causing the problem.

The only thing that I notices was that the inside of both of my front tires were worn excessively compared to the outer edge or the rear tires.  I think that my camber is off but my adjustment is fully extended and I cannot move the upper strut plate anymore to get less of an angle on my camber.  I am wondering about modifying that.

I am also interested what others feel is a good tire for our realatively heavy vehicles.  The tires that I sampled today are the OEM Pirelli's 6000 from Neu S4.
