More likely because it was/is ILLEGAL to drink/eat and
drive in Germany. I'm sure cultural dilution from the USA
will eventually remove that law, not that it's likely enforced.
On my way home from work today, in spite of NY's Hand's
Free Cell Phone Law, I observed (and had to avoid) a
wandering left lane bandit, yapping away on the phone. Had
my phone been out of the trunk of the car, I would have called
the cops on him..... hmmmm, isn't that ironic!

BTW, if you're short, like me, the "factory" cupholders work fine,
you just can't use the armrest. My arm isn't long enough to run
into the cup when shifting. I believe Teddy Chen knows of a
solution for those with the cup inteference problem when shifting,
right ;-)?
