[s-cars] ignition switch replacement

Hi Franco;
The tech said if you waited a couple of minutes after you disconnected the
battery, the airbag went inactive. The airbag igniter has to get power from
somewhere and I think it is fired electrically from the front sensors.

Just goes to show that the dealer techs don't do the job right either.
Disconnecting the battery is necessary but not sufficient.
According to the bentley you're also supposed to disconnect the air bag
power supply connector, a red connector somewhere in the passenger
footwell. I could "see" mine but not get to it.
As to sitting to one side, there isn't really much room to wiggle in
there unless you're really small of frame. You've kind of got to
lean to the right just to get to the switch in any case.
