[s-cars] Increase ride height with Bilstein & H&R?

So I gather that new struts will give me maybe 1/2 inch or so, basically in
restoring gas charge, etc. And that given that me car is already lowered, I
should go with the sport shocks (unless I switch back to stock springs which
I don't want to). I like the tight suspension and reduced body roll on hard
corners. Just _hate_ the sound of rocks thudding off my underside on the
slightest bumpy dirt roads. There are major rock-induced dents in the
channel pieces welded near the front wheels and my exhaust system.
Guess I was hoping that maybe a small spacer would give me slightly less
drop but still better-than-stock handling. I've never heard anyone mention
doing this however... can it be done? Are spacers in this manner safe? Do
they reduce the suspension travel too much? Is it even possible?
Thanks,
Ed

Last I knew, shocks don't raise your car up. (that is assuming
you're installing shocks designed for your suspension travel)
Because you want more ground clearance, go with standard height
springs and non-Sport shocks.
