Most likely regular green antifreeze was added. Flush and refill then
keep an eye on it.

Subject: [s-cars] RE: chunky antifreeze
While changing the oil of my wife's 1.8T Passat, I noticed the usually
nice and pink antifreeze was brownish. When I opened up the overflow
tank, there were little brown and beige chunks, almost like tiny pieces
of cork. Could someone at the stealer have topped up the antifreeze
with the wrong stuff? It does not look like there is oil in the tank -
oil from what I recall is foamy. The car runs fine and does not
overheat. It only has 21K miles on it. Flush and refill? Warranty
matter?
P.S. still looking for stock wastegate spring for the S6 Avant.
Stefan
