[s-cars] Misfiring? Fuel pump?

Isn't that amazing. Over a year ago, I too replaced my fuel pump because of
it being noisy. Knowing Audi fuel pumps, I didn't want to take a chance
anymore on a 10 year old pump. After removal, I noticed that there was all
sorts of crap stuck to the inlet screen on the pump itself. Looked kind of
like saran wrap?!?! Anyway, tank was inspected and didn't reveal anymore of
this crap floating around in it. New pump has been whisper quiet for over a
year.
If any of you have the typical noisy pump and have the time, removal and
cleaning may yield a quiet pump.
