The 95.5s have a production date of 7/95 and later, and a VIN of 121XXX.
As
far as I can tell there are no other external differences except for the
IR
receiver you mentioned.  On the interior you also had a small center
visor
and a chrome button on the handbrake, but the wider radio and lack of
rear
diff lock are the easiest ways to tell.
