Your historical perspective is warped.  Harry Truman, for example, would
consider the present administration to be far to the left of him.  No
one before Carter administration would have dared to propose the
Incombent Reelection Act, much less signed the bill as Bush Jr did.  I
suggest you examine the reign of the Democrat Woodrow Wilson, who locked
up anyone who criticized his position on WW I after the US entered it.

Kirby, who is not unaware that it was the Communists who redefined right
wing by assigning the term to the National Socialists (long before 1984)
with whom they had conspired to attack Poland and start WW II.
