Cody,

My experience is the RS2 fuel "set" must be changed as a unit.  I define
this as MAF, Injectors, Fuel Pressure Regulator, and software.


I am sure my findings will be debated, ad naseum, by my fellow listers...


I, personally, have run all possible configurations with the Software, MAF,
Inj, FPR, and turbo and have found that the turbo is the only optional peice
of the puzzle.  The software is coded to keep the fuel/air mix with the
"optimum" range matched to the airflow (turbo).

If the airflow is contant, regardless of turbo, then:

The MAF signals to the injectors to flow at a percentage of max based on the
voltage signal sent ... the RS2 MAF is expecting RS2 flow rates.

The software is coded based on a "matched" MAF, INJ, FPR.  When I ran RS2
MAF and RS2 INJ and stock FPR ... air/fuel mixture was incredibly rich
(stock FPR max flow is greater than RS2 FPR ... 100% of 4.0bar is much
greater than 100% of 3.2).

The reverse was true when I used the RS2 FPR with stock injectors (ran too
lean in that the stock injectors flow substantially less at 100% than do the
RS2 injectors .... duh.)

So ... MY EXPERIENCE was that the stock turbo didl not show significant
gains in power with a change in a fuel delivery "set" (the turbo can only
flow so much air before it is limited by the ECU or by heat soak).  An RS2
set will flow the same amount of fuel, as called for by the software.  The
main difference is that at max output, the stock system is truly maxed ...
the RS2 set has untapped capabliities until you flow more air...

This happens when you upgrade to a larger turbo...

Food for thought:  The RS2 Fuel set can handle the flow rate and maximize
the output of the stock turbo without fears of engine/valve damage at
sustained high boost.  The stock fuel set cannot do the same for an RS2 spec
turbo...

...and probably a more indepth answer than you wanted, but then again, this
is the S-list...
