[s-cars] Track car or not track car

Hi Stephen,

I've seen one, standing, quite a few times back in the mid-90s when the
car was launched. You couldn't walk in an autoshow in Quebec without
bumping in one of these beast. Since then, I've seen two on the roads.
The first time, a few years ago, going in the other direction on the
Hwy. Just a glimpse, but impressive. Yesterday, I've seen another one,
on the Hwy too, but going in the same direction. I came to its level and
blip the throttle to encourage him to show what's in his beast. Before I
could gear down, the red light was disapearing at the horizon!

Vincent.

Hi all,

After all this thread about unobtainium modern track cars versus cheap
old design track cars, what about a 900 lbs "car", 0.2 sec slower than a
F50 on 0-60 mph, 1.9 lateral g, sequential 6 speed, for just above
40K$... available in US. BTW, it's street legal too. OK, this "car" have
been designed in Quebec so I may be a bit biased but even with one wheel
less than any other suggestion I've read here, it seems to be the best
track toy available here for the not-faint-hearted-wallets.

Wise choise. An E30 325iS is a great car. You will have lots of fun
with
it, and if you wreck it, you can go cry for two minutes and the buy
another
one for $4,000!

I still want one, but think the 944/951 is really a better chassis out
of
the box. It's got coil-overs and kick ass brakes right from the
factory!
But, I'll eventually build up a dedicated E30 track car once I have more
time/money and both of the two.

Later,
Dan
