[s-cars] Turbo burning engine oil??

Since I last changed the thickness of my engine oil from 10W-30 to 15W-50, I
have been burning about a quart every 2k or so.  After a having my S4 in the
shop not too long ago, the mechanic told me, from the whine of my turbo, that
he thinks it will go out here soon; that is it dying.  I was wondering, could
that also be the cause of the buring oil?  Would a dying turbo burn some oil
over time?   Just a curious Q....
