After all the threads and posts regading damaged PSO's and coils, it
seems that a bad coil often kills a PSO output, and if you don't check
the coils, you might as well kill another output.. So, check the coils
thoroughly before using the 'spare' output stage! To check it, a
'megger' is invaluable, as the hairline cracks in the insulation lacquer
almost never shows up at ordinary insulation tests. (Cons: Beware of
possible sparks when megging, and disconnect everyting from the car!..
