Hi Eli!

Last Monday I took apart my left rear brake assembly to find my inside pad
worn down to the backing plate. I threw in my old pads to get me by while I
ordered some new parts. The guys who helped me out with my AWOL caliper
bolt were able to find Girling remanufactured calipers for $320 with pads
for all four. I thought that to be a pretty good deal!

So today I attempted to install them and ran into some trouble. The fronts
went on without any problems, but the rears are giving me a major headache!
Do you know how to remove the emergency brake cable from the caliper
housing? I've remove the spring and got the cable off of a pivoting lever,
but I can't get it to pass through this hole in the caliper housing. There
are no threads, so I'm thinking the metal around the hole is all rusted and
preventing the cable to freely pass through. Check out the attached
pictures. Any light you could shed onto my dilemma would be greatly
appreciated!

How's the preparation going for Road America?

Regards,
Randy Turke
