Hi all,

I’m in an urgent need of summer tires stock in Canada, either ECSTA MX
or Yok AVS 100. I can see the cords on the inner side of one of my front
tire. Oups! The other front tire is marginely better. To make a long
story short, in the spring I noticed the inner side of my front tires
had no thread left – my car is at stock ride height – after 40Kmiles but
I still had 2/3 of the thread center and outer side. So I got my car
aligned and was pretty amazed by the fact the mechanic correct the toe
to 0.01 of nominal values. The next two oil change, I noticed the inner
side of the tires looked worse than I remember. I just thought memory
forget thread depth, especially when there is no thread left.

Going back home this evening, I heard a weird noise from the driver side
wheel. I finally found the noise was coming from a 5” of cord slapping
the road. I couldn’t believe it. First thing I though, what the heck
this guy have done with the alignement. Without thinking, I put the
wheel straight to check the alignement with my bare eyes. Could you
imagine checking the alignement without any tool? Yes! The toe out is
visible with bare eyes. No joke! Hopefully, the tireslasted the
snail-limp-mode 50 miles I had to drive with them. Now, the urS6 is in
the parking lot and I won’t move it until the tires are changed. Not
even to cross the street. I had to wake up the 90Q20V. It have slept on
a parking lot for more than a year with a few occasional 1 mile trip to
the grocery. It’s not in shape to become my daily driver, even for a
week.

So, at the end, I need new summer tires, really quick, like 1-2 days.
Means they have to be stock. And I don’t know anyone who stocks ECSTA MX
or Yok AVS 100 in middle of september except big country-wide
distributor. I found, last year, a canadian equivalent to tirerack. I
forgot to add it in my favourites and Google doesn’t give me any clue.

BTW, how much cost an laser-beam alignement computer. Mechanics get so
used to screw up everything on my cars I think I’ll left the textile
industry and open a garage, just to justify the cost of all the tools I
need to do _everything_ myself on my cars.
