[s-cars] Switching to Synthetic?

I know this has probably been debated before, but I'm considering
switching the engine oil to synthetic and can get Motul 6100 at a very
good price. I'm hoping to achieve less wear at start-up, better overall
protection and longer change intervals (12,000 km from 6,000 km). Am I
being realistic or am I expecting too much?
