It seems to me that a setup using NO2 injection for the sole purpose
of quickly spooling up a big turbo before the boost comes on might
be worthwhile. It could be shut down when you've got enough
(or more than enough) regular O2 flowing from the turbo. That way
you could minimize the amount of NO2 needed. Unless, of course,
you expect to be doing this NO2 injection very often.
A progressive controller would be needed to ramp up the NO2
injection starting at lower engine RPMs to prevent detonation.
Such a setup wouldn't give you any more peak power, but it
would let you get to that peak power quicker when you really want it.
