[s-cars] S4 Shifter - Does it need to be rebuilt?

All the S4 repairs talk lately, (mine is front rotors, rebuild
driveshaft, seat heater) has gotten me thinking about my shifter.
Jenn's (my new wife) Black S4 has a tighter feel to her shifter than
mine...But then my S4 has over 205,000 miles on it compared to her
115,000 miles. I know this shifter is completely different than the one
on my Scirocco, but are there bushings or other wear parts that need to
be replaced?
I would like to repair/replace whatever is worn and get the righter
feel in my shifter.
Anyone BTDT?
Thanks
Chris
